Prof. Wole Soyinka, an elder statesman and prominent playwright from Nigeria, has stated that he will hold off on making any criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration until May 2024, one year into his term.

The Nobel laureate Soyinka made this statement on Sunday during a courtesy call on Tinubu, who is on vacation in Lagos.

Famous thespian remarked that this was his personal policy and that the President would have enough time to “make up” for lost ground during the one-year delay.

You may have observed, though, that I generally give most heads of state my undivided attention for the first year or so after they assume office.since they require time.

“I am aware that they don’t start from scratch when they arrive. They frequently have to make up for starting considerably lower than zero.

Thus, this time, I’m going to follow the same guideline. Ask me the same question again when you visit me the following year, and pay attention to my response, he said.
