52 kidnapped victims were rescued by the joint forces of Joint Task Force North-West Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) during an operation in the Isa Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State, continuing the attack against terrorists through a series of clearance operations.
The spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, said in a statement issued on Saturday in Gusau said the feat was recorded on Friday, December 22, 2023.
According to him, in the state’s Isa LGA, troops cleared and destroyed terrorist strongholds in the villages of Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi, and Bunwanga Gundumi forest.
52 abduction victims were freed by Operation Hadarin Daji forces, while some terrorists were reportedly neutralized during the operation.
“There are six children, 14 men, and 32 women among the rescued victims. They will receive medical attention, a debriefing, and be reunited with their families.”
