This order is in response to a Sahara Reporters investigation that highlighted the appeal of Batch ‘C’ N-Power beneficiaries, who are affiliated with the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries. They asked the President to take action about the unpaid stipend issue and asked Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, to be called in to investigate the extended nonpayment.

Through their National Publicity Secretary, Adesina Adex, the beneficiaries expressed their displeasure, emphasizing that the N-Power administration had not paid out stipends for the previous nine months. They disclosed that fewer than 70% of beneficiaries got payouts in October, November, and December 2022, with the remaining claimants going unfunded. Adex also stated that no beneficiary got any payment from January to September 2023, which left the receivers in a state of financial uncertainty and hopelessness.

President Tinubu’s order came after a thorough verification process that was started and finished by the Ministry, according to a statement issued on Friday by Mr. Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair, the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

Zubair pointed out that during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, Nigerian youngsters had new hope when the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty, Dr. Betta Edu, announced the distribution of cash. The minister underlined President Tinubu’s dedication to the youth welfare of Nigeria via a range of initiatives and policies. She also demonstrated her own commitment, working with the N-Power team until three in the morning to make sure beneficiaries received their payments before Christmas, per the president’s instructions.

Zubair concluded by stating that the beneficiaries of N-Power were receiving payments, and their individual bank accounts showed proof that the money had been transferred.
