Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, stated that his team must “blame ourselves” for their Sunday 2-1 loss to Wolves.
The hosts had a two goal lead thanks to strikes from Mario Lemina and Matt Doherty, but Christopher Nkunku responded with his first league goal at Molineux.
Pochettino says his team “deserve much more,” but they are the only ones responsible for the defeat.
“We made mistakes,” he stated. We must hold ourselves accountable. It explains why our team lost. We had opportunities to win.
We fight against ourselves. We didn’t win the game today.
We believe we should have received considerably more, thus we are really upset. You are hurt in this competition if your clinical skills are inadequate. We made opportunities. It is really disappointing because of this. It was incredibly tough, but after a few bends, we gave up.
With 22 points, the Blues are in 10th place heading into their next league matchup with Crystal Palace.
