The 75-year-old sister of legendary Canadian singer Celine Dion, Claudette, claims that Celine no longer has “control over her muscles.”
The singer revealed that she suffers from stiff person syndrome, a neurological condition, and canceled her world tour in December of last year.
Celine’s elder sister has now hinted that it would take some time before she takes the stage again.
The body attacks its own nerve cells as a result of Celine’s degenerative and incurable disease, which significantly impairs mobility.
She’s exerting a lot of effort, yet her muscles are out of control. She’s always been disciplined, and that hurts my heart,” Claudette said to 7 Jours.
Her work has always been intense. “You’re going to do it well, you’re going to do it properly,” our mother would always assure her.
“It’s true that returning to the stage is the goal in both our dreams and hers,” she went on. To what extent? I’m not sure.
“The heart is a muscle, and the vocal cords are muscles,” Claudette continued. This is what is trying to harm me. Scientists haven’t done much research because it’s a one in a million case and doesn’t effect a large number of people.
Supportive messages for the celebrity have deluged Fondation Maman Dion, Celine’s family charity.
“Some people have lost hope because it’s all illness that isn’t well known,” Claudette remarked. Would that you could only imagine how many calls the Foundation receives regarding Celine!
