Former President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed his felicitations for this year’s Christmas celebrations to Nigerians and Christians worldwide.
He called on Nigerians to demonstrate sacrifice, humility, love, and peace.
In a statement released on Sunday, Jonathan urged Nigerians to make the most of the season by demonstrating love and preserving moral values, which will strengthen the bonds that unite Nigerians as a people.
“The Christmas tale is an inspiring one, full of messages of joy, peace, and hope for the entire world,” he declared. Its foundation is the unending mercy and love of God for humanity, which were made visible by the birth of Jesus Christ.
For all believers, the birth of Jesus Christ signifies a new beginning and a new destiny. It is the realization of numerous predictions regarding the arrival of the Savior, who will deliver us from sin and other challenges.
He claims that the occasion calls on Christians to exhibit the qualities of humility, love, peace, and sacrifice as well as to be authentic witnesses to their faith as Christ’s disciples.
“To all citizens, this should be an opportunity to renew our faith in God and our nation and to live with the confidence that, in spite of our difficulties, we can overcome them via our common deeds of love and faith,” he declared.
He gave everyone the assignment to take advantage of the chance to help those in need and move in a way that will further the advancement of the country.
