Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Christopher Nkunku is important to the club after he scored his first Premier League goal for the Blues on Christmas Eve against Wolves.
The France international has played twice for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, according to Pochettino, who also stated that the player doesn’t require too much pressure.
Remember that Chelsea lost 2-1 at Molineux despite Nkunku’s goal not being enough.
The goals against the visitors were scored by Matt Doherty and Mario Lemina for the home team.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Pochettino said: “I’m very pleased to see Nkunku score and it shows how important he can be for us.
He’s been out for a long time, so we can’t put too much pressure on him. That’s why he came on after an hour to help ease him in.
“He is a talented player who can score goals, and while we are obviously disappointed not to win the game, we are happy he did so today.”
