‘Emeka Ike punched me when our child was sick’ – Ex-wife, Suzanne Emma speaks up

The divorcing spouse of Nollywood actor Emeka Ike, Suzanne Emma, has reacted to her ex-husband’s recent assertions that her accusations of domestic abuse against him were untrue and caused him to suffer substantial losses.

During their 17-year marriage, Emma said in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, that Ike had abused her. She described how Ike had physically and verbally abused her during a particular event in the hospital when their child was very sick.

“My child was ill at the time we visited the hospital. We were cash-strapped. Additionally, I was attempting to persuade the hospital to treat the child on the condition that we pay for their care afterward. After a little while, he [Emeka Ike] suddenly stormed in and began shouting at me, calling me a fool. You lack the necessary skills. What is this whole thing? Nothing can even be spoken to them. Who do they represent? You’re letting them get away with doing this and that when they’re beneath you.

And I became enraged, asking, ‘Sir, why are you acting like such a jerk?’ And I left to get a seat in the car. Emeka Ike entered the car right away, and the first thing I noticed on my jaw was his blow.

Emeka Ike and his wife’s marriage was dissolved by a Lagos Island Customary Court in 2017 as a result of constant abuse. On July 13, 2015, Emma filed a petition with the court to end her 14-year marriage to the Nollywood actor.
