For the sake of the party’s unity and advancement, the Jigawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, has urged the National Working Committee, or NWC, to heed Sule Lamido’s advice.
Isah Bello, the secretary of the Jigawa PDP, made the request in a statement on Friday.
Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa State, came under fire from the PDP NWC for remarks he made recently regarding the situation in River State.
“We have noticed with dismay the imbroglio that is unfolding in the Rivers State PDP and the polity in general over the past few weeks,” the Jigawa PDP said to the NWC.
We have also been closely monitoring the events that resulted in President Tínubu’s sly intervention in an attempt to mediate the conflict.
On this note, our leader, Dr. Sule Lamido, a party founding father, chose to bring our NWC’s ambivalence to our attention in order to demonstrate his real and sincere concerns and call for immediate action.
“The National Publicity Secretary of the NWC chose to issue a derogatory press release criticizing our leader, instead of following his wise advice.
“Without going into too much detail, the Jigawa State PDP chapter and other interested parties express their disapproval of this toward our esteemed leader.
The members of the NWC may want to be reminded that some elders made significant risks, including going to prison, in order for them to hold the position they are currently enjoying, even though it is understandable that the composition and chemistry of the NWC may be forgiven due to its gap in the historical establishment of the PDP. It is a joke that goes too far to suggest that Dr. Sule Lamido is employed by the APC.
“Jigawa natives have always fought for justice and the interests of the average person. Our political DNA is wired to fight for our cause. In order to protect our leader, we won’t stop at anything.
“Serving, defending, and advancing the fortunes of our great party is the principal job and duty of the NWC; it is not to provide means of subsistence.
“We implore the NWC members to follow Dr. Sule Lamido’s advice.”
