Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello generously gave judges, legislators, and emergency services in the state a range of automobiles. In Lokoja, the governor gave three brand-new fire fighting vans to the state’s fire service and 25 ambulances to local governments.
Speaker of the State House of Assembly Umar Yusuf received a Jeep and two support cars during the event at Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja, while his deputy, majority leader, and the other 22 members each received one automobile. Nine automobiles were also donated to the judiciary so that judges could receive them.
Governor Bello praised the recipients for their commitment and diligence in serving the state, stating that the gesture intends to inspire improved service in their respective roles. Three extra ambulances were set aside for the Referral Hospitals in the three senatorial districts and one for Kogi Specialist Hospital. The ambulances were distributed to Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) in each of the twenty-one Local Government Areas (LGAs).
