The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly members of Benue State, who accused the governor of exercising dictatorial control over the state, have been refuted by Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Governor Alia denounced the “blatant and unwarranted assault” on him and charged that the federal MPs had compromised their integrity in order to fabricate a false narrative, according to a statement released by Tersoo Kula, his chief press secretary. He emphasised that he was a member of the APC and claimed that his efforts enabled the party to win the Benue general elections.

The governor was accused by the Benue State APC Caucus in the National Assembly of attempting to undermine them, governing the state in an autocratic manner, and engaging in nepotism. The caucus urged President Bola Tinubu to step in, with Senator Titus Zam leading the charge.

In response, Governor Alia chastised the caucus for criticizing him rather than having productive conversations that would have advanced the state.

According to him, Mr. Alia was crucial to the APC’s electoral victories in the 2023 polls.

Mr. Kula questioned the legitimacy of Mr. Zam’s caucus leadership in light of his ward’s and the local government’s election losses.

It’s ironic that Sen. Titus Zam, who was unable to win elections in his ward or local government and was only able to save face in the Benue North West Senatorial District election due to the popularity of the “Yes Father” movement in the two major towns of Makurdi and Gboko, led this notorious group not to discuss issues that will further develop the state but rather to attack the governor by repeatedly calling him derogatory names during the press conference.

“What is even more ridiculous is the suggestion made by Zam and his fellow travellers that Rev. Fr. Alia joined “a stronger” APC in order to win the election.

But let me just ask: What happened in 2019 when the Saint—a Maitama drummer and mastermind of the horrific music—and his friends ostentatiously danced and ran for the same party? Have they forgotten that the party received just one seat out of a possible 14 in the National Assembly? Less than four of the thirty members of the Benue State House of Assembly are party members, he added.

He rejected the caucus’ accusations that Mr. Alia had not performed up to par, pointing out that the National Assembly members had not made any tangible contributions, such as having constituency offices or sponsoring any bills.

The forerunners expressly and painfully state that they will utterly disregard the vicious accusations of non-performance, as they stem from the evil of the face hidden behind the mask.

“These same people have been members of the National Assembly for the same amount of time, yet none of them have hired a constituency office anywhere in their constituencies, if six months is all it takes to build heaven. They have not yet sponsored a single measure, either alone or in tandem. “How could they then understand the actual significance of development?” he said.

Mr. Kula urged the caucus to defend their remarks made in Benue and present their accusations to the public.

He reaffirmed the people’s steadfast support for the governor and emphasised his dedication to keeping the promises he made to the voters.

In spite of the attacks, he continued, the Benue State Government is steadfast in upholding Mr. Alia’s integrity.

Display of Tentable Cowardice by the Benevolent State National Assembly Caucus

December 22, 2023, Friday.

We witnessed the nude appearance of certain Benue State National Assembly members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a news conference on Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Abuja.

The dishonourable appearance was obviously directed towards the state’s governor and party leader, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.

With great certainty, we can state that the members of the National Assembly who took part in the press conference had to have partially sold their conscience and let what was left to fully blinds their sense of reality in Benue State.

In the Benue North West Senatorial District election, Sen. Titus Zam, who was unable to win elections in his ward or local government and was only spared by the popularity of the “Yes Father” movement in the two major towns of Makurdi and Gboko, led this notorious group not to discuss issues that will further the state’s development but rather to attack the Governor by repeatedly calling him derogatory names during the press conference.

The insinuation made by Zam and his fellow travellers that Rev. Fr. Alia joined “a stronger” APC in preparation for the election makes it even more absurd.

But let me just ask: what happened in 2019 when the Saint, who is also a Maitama drummer and the composer of the horrific music, and his friends pranced around and ran for the same party?Have they forgotten that the party received just one seat out of a possible 14 in the National Assembly? Less than four of the thirty members of the Benue State House of Assembly are party members.

However, the party’s fortunes changed going into and after the general elections in 2023. With the notable exception of one prominent actor—Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia—all of the actors in 2019 stayed relatively consistent. What else, then, besides Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, altered the party’s course in 2023?

We clearly heard from his messengers how evil the sponsor of this malicious press conference was.

They are always bragging about how they worked out the details to sway the Supreme Court’s decision in favour of the PDP candidate who has decided to leave and join the APC.

And they say that the only way to get the go-ahead to carry out this diabolical scheme is to portray the Governor in the worst possible light in front of Mr. President and the party leadership.

We appreciate the sharp, pertinent, and insightful questions posed by men in the pen industry. The question of whether the group was serving the interests of Sen. George Akume, the SGF, or the people of Benue state struck a chord with the most people.

At least three separate journalists at the conference asked the same question. Can the truth be buried?

The false accusations of non-performance will be utterly disregarded because they stem from the evil nature of the face hidden beneath the mask, as the forerunners painfully clarify.

If six months is all it takes to build heaven, then none of the individuals in the National Assembly who have been there for the same amount of time have hired an office in their respective constituencies. They have not yet sponsored a single measure, either alone or in tandem. Then, how could they understand what development really meant?

Regardless, allow these members of the National Assembly to travel to Benue, where they can publicly declare the divisive and vile statements they made during their press conference.

The governor is with the people of Benue. The Governor is abiding by the agreement he made with them.

Governor’s Chief Press Secretary is Sir Tersoo Kula, MNIPR.
