The President’s wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, launched the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme (RHIESS), a program intended to assist elderly citizens 65 years of age and older who are in need during the holiday season in all 36 states. The launch, with the slogan “Better Days Ahead,” intends to provide senior individuals around the country more economic power. Over 250 recipients from the 20 Local Government Areas and the 37 Local Council Development Areas received N100,000 each at the Lagos State event, which was held at Lagos House, Ikeja. The total amount of beneficiaries received was N950 million. The initiative aims to lessen the financial hardships that senior folks experience over the holiday season. Every state and the Federal Capital Territory participated in the RHIESS event at the same time. Mrs. Tinubu underlined the importance of embracing life, prioritizing health, and developing ties with loved ones and with God throughout their golden years. The wife of the governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, backed the project by giving the recipients gifts and meals.
