Rangers Football Club is getting ready to make a return to The Cathedral, also known as Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. Former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi started the extensive renovation project two years ago, and it is finally finished. Rangers hosted their home games in Awka while they were renovating.
The refurbishment of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium is a significant development for both the football club and sports enthusiasts in Enugu. Even though the project was completed successfully, there is still sadness because Nigeria’s bid to host the next nations cup did not include the stadium, which was a wasted opportunity.
