A 20-foot-long shipping container contains human legs that are still wearing black socks and sneakers.

Workers at a recycling plant in Thailand got the shock of their lives when they opened up a shipment of cardboard from the US to find a pair of human legs inside.

According to Mail Online, Thai police are speaking with US authorities amid fears the owner may have been murdered before being hidden in the container.

According to Sriracha police Lieutenant Colonel Dechanut Thayasirichuti, “it is possible the person was the victim of a murder.”

“But that did not occur in our nation.”

On Tuesday, December 19, the shipment was transported to a facility situated near Sriracha, a town approximately 100 miles south of Bangkok, the capital.

Unloading the layers of packed cardboard, an employee noticed a shin bone protruding from a brown sports shoe with pink laces. The decaying limb seems to have been cut at the knee and was still covered in a black sock.

The operator told local reporters, “I mistakenly believed the bones to be white poles.”

‘But then I noticed the trainers and the knees. When I discovered they were from a human, I was astounded.

After being called to the scene, police officers who were put inside the container discovered a second leg that extended to the pelvis, was wrapped in a cardboard cube, and was likewise covered in a black sock.

According to Thayasirichuti, “We do not believe that the remains are from a local Thai person.”

We think the body had been in the container before it arrived in Thailand for a considerable amount of time because it had already begun to decay.

We believe the deceased was foreign, and that’s how the remains came to be here.

“The shipping company will work with foreign law enforcement in concert.”

After being taken out of the trash, the remains were sent to the Police Hospital at Bangkok’s Forensic Science Institute for examination.

The recycling company’s identity and the name of the corporation that shipped the cargo on its 8,000-mile voyage from the US have not been disclosed by Thai officials.
