As the first-ever Miss France 2024 winner with a pixie cut, she responds to criticism in the midst of a ‘woke’ backlash.

The Miss France pageant winner responded angrily to those who referred to her “androgynous” appearance and short hair as “woke,” stating that she is “not just a haircut.”

For the first time in its 103-year existence, the Miss France 2024 pageant concluded in unusual controversy when it selected a winner with short hair, evoking conflicting opinions on social media.

After winning the title and rocking a Pixie cut in front of 7.5 million TV viewers on Saturday night, Eve Gilles, 20, of Nord-Pas-de-Calais in northern France, said that the competition’s “diversity” had improved.

Social media was inundated with complaints as viewers attacked her win, with many denouncing the judging panel as “woke.”

“Making people believe that the most beautiful woman in France looks like a man is woke,” commented one commenter.

“Miss France is no longer a beauty contest; instead, it is a woke contest that is based on inclusivity,” stated another.

But several instantly defended her, labeling the woke charges as “ridiculous.”

“The topic this morning is really to be outraged that Miss France 2024 has short hair…?,” a commenter said. How woke would that be, too? Are you folks for real? Colette, Louise Brooks, Coco Chanel, Mistinguett, etc. Do you find that meaningful, or are you just illiterate?

“Maybe you don’t think the new #MissFrance is very attractive, but her short hair makes her seem woke. It’s really absurd,” remarked a another user.

She stated: “I am human, criticism affects and hurts me inevitably” in an interview with the French station TF1. My physique is what it is. That’s just the way I am, like it or not. People don’t like me and that’s it if they don’t like it.

It’s common knowledge that you cannot please everyone. Even though it’s challenging, you must accept who you are and disregard all of the criticism.
